This document is the final report on phase 1 of the ongoing Designing Sustainable Landscapes (DSL) Project of the North Atlantic Landscape Conservation Cooperative (NALCC) and includes the following: 1) Executive summary of the more detailed documentation (referenced herein) on the Landscape Change, Assessment and Design (LCAD) model developed for the NALCC. 2) Summary of preliminary LCAD model results for the Pocomoke and Nanticoke Rivers watershed pilot study area in Maryland and Delaware. 3) Summary of a comparison of the coarse- and fine-filter ecological assessments in the pilot study area, including preliminary recommendations regarding the complimentary use of the coarse (ecological integrity) and fine (species) filters.
