With piping plover nesting season underway, a new smartphone application designed to collect data on piping plover habitat across the North Atlantic breeding range is gaining momentum, and media attention. iPlover, which feeds data from across the region into habitat models to predict future impacts to plover and other beach-dependent species, has been featured in Greenwire and the Cape Cod Times this month.
