Conservation and Global Change: The Role of Biology and Resource Management

Please join Interior’s Office of Policy Analysis on December 10 for our monthly speaker series, which will feature a discussion on conservation and global change. Thomas Lovejoy, Biodiversity Chair, H. John Heinz III Center for Science, will focus on the impacts of climate change, in particular, the potential of biological processes to reduce climate change, and the options for managing federal and other lands. 
Resource managers’ conservation strategies – restoring ecosystems’ natural connections, reducing ecosystem stressors, restoring ecosystems' ability to remove carbon from the atmosphere, and effectively managing protected areas – will play a key role in adjusting to climate change.
